A Tragic First

Jeffrey Wrecked his bike yesterday. He knocked out his two front teeth which luckily were still baby teeth.

Jeff Says, "I guess the handlebar of his bike came up at his mouth, and connected w/ one tooth directly resulting in shattering it, and the blunt impact also knocked the 2nd one completely out. or his mouth came down on the handlebar....he said he was trying to pedal while standing up (not sitting on the seat) and lost his balance. I will always remember him screaming out in terror, "I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die!!!!" as I approached him, just cause he saw his own blood in his hands. It took a while to reassure him that he would be just fine after the swelling went down. (You've heard of Drama Queens? He is a Drama King when it comes to Blood.) the drama was way too excessive. That boy has seen too many movies. (He totally Has!) Actually, I had to keep from laughing so the neighbor lady wouldnt think I was a bad father, and so that Jeffrey wouldn't absolutely hate me for not taking his accident seriously. He was back to normal after an hour or two, and actually got back on his bike earlier this evening. "

The italics are my comments! :) Every kid has at least one really good bike accident to create those battle scars of youth. I suppose this was Jeffrey's turn! Love you little man! At least the tooth fairy will be there to pay you for those teeth! (Last time he only received $ .50 since it didn't look like he had been brushing enough. So he has been careful to be sure they were kept clean. and even wanted to brush it before putting it under his pillow. hehehehe.) They actually had to go search the street to find them. One was busted into 3 pieces. eeek... BTW I heard Jeffrey even left a note to the tooth fairy. I can't wait to see it I emailed the tooth fairy to see if I could buy the teeth back for his scrapbook.
